Susana Irene Vera b.1973 Valparaiso, CHILE http://www.susanavera.com Susana Vera is a contemporary figurative artist working out of Saskatoon. Her current work addresses issues beyond the portrait. Vera is interested in how an artist's self-awareness and emotional connection with her subject becomes the narrative of the piece. She was born in central Chile and immigrated to Canada in 1976 at the age of three. Susana Vera graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999 with a BFA with distinction. She has exhibited in several university related shows including a solo graduating exhibition and a group show the following summer.
